George Lucas vuole aiuti economici per la serie tv di Star Wars

BadTaste.it – il nuovo gusto del cinema!

Dopo aver lanciato il casting, è venuto ora il momento di trovare un luogo dove girare l’intera serie, e secondo Screen Daily tale luogo sarebbe la Repubblica Ceca. Ma nulla è ancora certo: Lucas infatti sta facendo pressioni sul governo locale per ottenere forti sgravi fiscali e abbassare, di conseguenza, il budget di ogni episodio.

Certo, stiamo parlando di un franchise che frutta in concessioni decine di milioni di dollari ogni anno tra videogame, merchandise e home video, ma una serie tv mobilita somme ingentissime ed evidentemente Lucas vuole approfittare di tutti gli sgravi possibili e immaginabili, come ha detto lui stesso (in maniera forse un po’ invadente) al quotidiano Ceco Mlada Fronta Dnes:

I vostri politici dovrebbero reagire a questa situazione. Abbiamo sempre trovato molti talenti qui, e siamo sempre stati contenti di tornare [Lucas ha girato a Praga la serie tv del Giovane Indiana Jones e sta girando ora Red Tails, di cui è produttore esecutivo, ndt]. La crisi finanziaria sta causando molti più problemi all’industria cinematografica che ad altri settori, quindi logicamente stiamo cercando le condizioni migliori: oggi come oggi tali condizioni vengono offerte da molti altri Paesi europei.

I politici Cechi dovrebbero ricordare che non perdono solo produzioni cinematografiche: noi paghiamo alberghi, location, automobili e altri servizi. Il 70% dei budget rimangono nel Paese dove giriamo.

Parole molto dure, ma effettivamente se la serie verrà girata in Repubblica Ceca, ci rimarrà per 4-7 anni, dando lavoro a circa settecento persone.

Vedremo se questo intervento servirà a qualcosa, o se la produzione verrà spostata altrove, magari in Australia (dove Lucas ha girato in parte la nuova trilogia di Guerre Stellari) o – volesse il cielo! – negli Stati Uniti…

La serie sarà ambientata tra Episodio 3 (l’ultimo della nuova trilogia) e Episodio 4 (il primissimo film di Guerre Stellari). Lucas ha descritto, curiosamente, la storia come "Deadwood incontra I Sopranos nello Spazio": racconterà i decenni trascorsi tra le due trilogie, visti dai personaggi minori della saga. Potrebbero esserci dei cammeo di personaggi dei film, ma Lucas ha detto più volte di voler aprire un mondo completamente nuovo, senza troppi legami con gli episodi cinematografici. Vi terremo aggiornati sul casting…

STAR WARS FEST 2009: CHE LA FORZA SIA A TORINO

La prima convention italiana per i fan della saga firmata Lucas

Nell’ambito di Torino Comics, 15ma Mostra mercato del Fumetto, da venerdì 17 a domenica 19 aprile il Lingotto Fiere di Torino si trasforma in un grande palcoscenico per la prima convention nazionale dedicata a Star Wars. Ospiti d’onore attori della vecchia e della nuova trilogia e doppiatori che hanno fatto parlare in italiano i personaggi della saga. Tre giorni di cinema, mostre, seminari, giochi, esibizioni e sfilate di cosplayer in una grande festa di cinema e spettacolo.

Organizzata con una tonnellata di entusiasmo da Stefano "Darth Vader" Lento dell’Imperial Crown Alliance, uno dei fan club storici nel panorama italiano, la prima Star Wars Fest 2009 promette tre giornate di divertimento e approfondimento del vasto mondo legato alla esalogia di George Lucas.

Il programma è quanto mai articolato: si parte da alcuni ospiti d’eccezione in arrivo dagli States: Nalini Krishan e Orli Shoshan, maestre Jedi nella nuova trilogia che saranno scortate da due Ammiragli, Ken Colley (Ammiraglio Piet) e Richard LeParmentier (Ammiraglio Motti) della vecchia trilogia. E ancora Barrie “Hollywood” Holland, il tenente Renz, Gerald Home, ovvero Tessek Squid Head e Mon Calamari Officer della vecchia trilogia, e Terry Carter, il colonnello Tigh nella serie originale di Battlestar Galactica del 1978. Tutti gli ospiti saranno a disposizione dei visitatori per autografare le foto in vendita e saranno protagonisti di tre conferenze aperte al pubblico.

Tre famosi doppiatori italiani, Stefano Crescentini, Davide Perino e Marco Vivio, e la direttrice di doppiaggio Stefanella Marrama interagiranno con il pubblico nell’ambito del Seminario-Gioco sul doppiaggio, provinando per gioco i volontari tra i visitatori: i vincitori potranno conquistare il privilegio di doppiare per davvero, in uno studio professionale, il fanfilm vincitore dell’ultima edizione del Fanfilms Festival, Code Guardian di Marco Spitoni.

Agenda piena anche per gli amanti di memorabilia, con la mostra di giocattoli e action figures di Fabrizio Modina, uno dei più famosi collezionisti del mondo. Gli appassionati di giochi da tavolo e videogiochi potranno scatenarsi negli spazi allestiti con Pc e consoles – molti in modalità multiplayer – con tutti i games esistenti a tema Star Wars.

L’animazione prevede nei tre giorni dimostrazioni di giochi di ruolo e sfilate in costume con cosplayer provenienti da tutta Italia (con una raccolta fondi per la Croce Rossa, a cura del fan club 501 Italica, presso il cui stand sarà anche allestito un set fotografico dove chiunque potrà scattare una foto con il personaggio di Star Wars preferito in cambio di un’offerta libera alla Croce Rossa Italiana che verrà destinata all’emergenza terremoto in Abruzzo), il campionato National Lightsaber Tournement – ovvero prendi la spada laser e sfida i tuoi avversari con una personale coreografia – e per chi fosse ancora inesperto anche lezioni per diventare campioni di Lightsabers.

E poiché i guerrieri stellari sanno anche prendersi un po’ in giro, questa festa a 360° gradi del mondo Star Wars propone anche i film parodia e varie scenette satiriche con la partecipazione di ospiti a sorpresa. Oltre, naturalmente, a tutti i contenuti speciali, video ufficiali, inclusa l’esalogia, i films sugli Ewoks, tutte le versioni di Clone Wars e le serie a cartoni su Droidi ed Ewoks.
